OUR BEGINNINGS
KARAKU began in 2020 with a simple belief: good clothes deserve to be worn for years.
Our team brings together designers and enthusiasts with a shared appreciation for vintage clothing, military design, and classic workwear. We look closely at the pieces that have stood the test of time, then rethink their fit, fabrics, and details for everyday life.
From the feel of a fabric to the placement of a pocket, every choice helps shape the finished piece. We’re drawn to clothes with character—pieces that feel familiar from the first wear and become more personal with time.
That’s the idea behind KARAKU: keeping the spirit of the originals alive while giving you room to make them your own.

KARAKU launches online with a team of seven and a shared ambition to bring a little more enjoyment to everyday life through clothing.
Building the Foundations
We begin developing relationships with suppliers and manufacturers specializing in vintage-inspired clothing, establishing quality checks across design, production, and customer care.
Exploring Indigo and Beyond
We introduce pieces inspired by Japan’s indigo-dyeing traditions, alongside original aloha shirts, one-of-a-kind vintage finds, and accessories.
Introducing Member Rewards
We launch a tiered membership program to thank our growing community.

We celebrate our second anniversary and the people who helped us get here.
