This piece is a collaborative item created by KaraKu and the hand-painted ukiyo-e artist Kota Nakatsubo. By incorporating traditional ukiyo-e elements into a modern “Betojan” (Vietnam jacket), the aim is to counter the current trend of Japanese aesthetics being reduced to only classical impressions.
A Sukajan Jacket is an original style that American soldiers had custom-made in Vietnam during the Vietnam War, characterized by bold embroidery and prints.
The dragon embroidery is prominently placed on the back, immediately drawing the eye. Rendered in a traditional ukiyo-e style, the dragon’s body is mainly in pale green, with detailed scales, whiskers, and claws conveying a sense of strength and movement. Orange flames and accents enhance the visual impact, making it highly striking.
The upper back features the text “FIRE DRAGON PEARLS” in a flame-inspired font that complements the dragon motif. Small orange flames are also embroidered on the cuffs, creating a sense of cohesion throughout the design.
Material: 100% Cotton Twill
- Fabric Features: Made from 100% cotton twill, the fabric has a natural texture that gives a crisp, refreshing feel. It offers structure, excellent moisture absorption, and quick-drying properties, making it comfortable and easy to wear.
- Recommended to dry clean, or machine wash cold on gentle cycle. Hang to dry.
