Description
Inspired by one of Japan’s five great folktales, The Tongue-Cut Sparrow, this shirt captures the dramatic climax where the greedy old woman opens the “large chest,” unleashing a swarm of yokai and supernatural creatures. The scene is vividly illustrated with a strong sense of motion and storytelling, bringing the folklore to life in a striking panel print.
Set against a black base, the creatures are rendered in sepia and gray gradients, creating a subdued yet expressive tone that avoids excessive boldness while maintaining a refined, playful edge. At the collar, symmetrical motifs resembling sparks or spiritual energy add a mysterious, almost eerie touch, balancing the dark theme with a modern, stylish finish.
